Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Institum when you create an account or use the service.

Last updated: 9 June 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms govern your use of the Institum web and mobile applications and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an institute, you confirm you are authorized to bind that institute.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you need a guardian’s approval to enroll, and a higher minimum age may apply where your local law requires it.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Education institutes administer their own members, so some of your account information and roles are managed by your institute.

3. The Service & your institute

Institum is a tool that education institutes use to manage courses, enrollment, attendance, grades, communications, and payments. Your institute administers your enrollment, your roles, and the records it controls. Which features are available to you depends on your institute’s configuration and plan. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
  • attempt to disrupt the Service or gain unauthorized access to it or to other users’ data;
  • upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is illegal, harmful, or infringing;
  • scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service without permission.

We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms or that put the Service or others at risk.

5. Your content

You and your institute retain ownership of the content you upload (such as files, submissions, and posts). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights necessary to share it.

6. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, and the Institum name and branding — is owned by the operator and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in the Service except the limited right to use it as permitted here. You may not use the Institum name or marks without prior written permission.

7. Fees & payments

Where your institute issues invoices or collects fees through Institum, those financial arrangements are between you and your institute. The Service may display invoices and payment records created by your institute; the institute, not Institum, is responsible for those amounts, refunds, and any related tax.

8. Suspension & account deletion

You may delete your account at any time — see Account Deletion for what is removed and what your institute retains. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where required by law. Some records controlled by your institute may continue to exist after your account is deleted, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Your institute is responsible for the accuracy of the educational records it manages.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory consumer-protection rights under the law of your country of residence.

11. Changes to the Service & these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example in the app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country in which you reside, whose courts may also have jurisdiction over disputes you bring as a consumer.
