1. Delete it from the app
- Open the Institum app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
You are signed out immediately and can no longer log in with that account.
2. Can’t use the app?
If you can’t access the app, email support@institum.com from your account address and we will action your deletion request. We may need to verify your identity first to protect your account.
3. What is deleted
The personal data tied to your login is erased right away:
- your email address and phone number;
- your password and email/phone verification status;
- active sessions and push-notification tokens;
- platform roles and guardian links connected to the account.
The account can no longer sign in, and the email address is freed so it can be used to register again.
4. What is kept, and why
Institum is used by education institutes to manage their students and teachers. Records your institute creates and is required or entitled to keep — such as invoices, grades, and attendance — remain with the institute as the data controller, under the accounting and education-record retention laws of its country. After deletion these records are no longer linked to an app login.
A note on integrity
For accounts that performed actions in the system, a minimal anonymized marker is retained purely to keep audit trails valid (for example “this record was created by a now-deleted user”). It contains no name, email, phone, or password — nothing that identifies you.
5. Backups
Residual copies of your data may remain in our encrypted offsite backups for a short time after deletion. These are purged on the normal backup-rotation cycle, within 30 days, after which they cannot be restored.
6. If you manage an institute
If you are the sole manager of an institute, you can’t delete your account directly — doing so would leave the institute without an administrator. Transfer ownership to another manager first, or contact support@institum.com and we will help.
7. Erasing institute-held records
To request erasure of records your institute controls (beyond deleting your login), contact your institute directly as the data controller, or email support@institum.com and we will route your request to them. The institute decides what it can erase under the laws that bind it. See the Privacy Policy for how this works.
